David J. Ingram, 73, of Waco, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 8, 2019 surrounded by his family. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, December 16, 2019 at Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with military honors.
David was born in El Paso, TX to Dorothee and Elwood Ingram. They were a military family so he had the wonderful experience of living in many different locations before his family settled in Fort Worth, Texas. He graduated from Nolan Catholic High School in Ft. Worth in 1964, and later received his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, TX in 1989. After high school he briefly attended The University of Texas in Austin, but he had a strong calling to serve his country and decided to leave school to join the Air Force serving in Vietnam during that time.
Shortly after his honorable discharge from the Air Force, he met the love of his life, Carolyn Fenoglio, marrying her in 1969 and starting their family and his long career with the U. S. Postal Service. During his time with the postal service he served as Postmaster in Cisco, TX; Bentonville, AR; Killeen, TX; and ending his career as Postmaster in Waco, TX, retiring in 2001 after 31 years. He thoroughly enjoyed his retirement by tinkering around the house, traveling and spending time with his family and friends.
David was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Ingram of Waco, TX; daughter, Andi Heppell and husband Mark of San Antonio, TX; son, Brian Ingram and wife Jen of The Colony, TX; and sister, Ann Phillips of Gladewater, TX. He is also survived by his 7 grandchildren, who will all miss their “Pop-Pop” dearly; Jacob, Jackson, and Averie Heppell and Luke, Sawyer, Piper, and Arrow Ingram.
