Ada Thompson

Ada Corine Thompson,70, passed away October 15, 2022, in Waco.  A visitation will be held from 5:00pm until 7:00pm, Friday, October 21, 2022, at Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, 6623 S IH 35 in Robinson. Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm, Saturday, October 22, 2022, at Mighty Wind Worship Center, 1100 Washington in Waco. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park.

Ada was born February 9, 1952, to Mr. Joe and Thelma (McDade) Ellis. She grew up in Harrison, TX and graduated from Riesel High School in 1969. After high school, she attended Four C Business College of Waco where she received a certificate for business. She also attended McLennan Community College and studied Mental Health Counseling. She began work for The VA Medical Center as a Nurse’s Aid in the Blind Rehab and transitioned to a telephone operator where she worked until she retired, in 2001.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Obie Thompson Sr. and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ellis.

She is survived by her devoted sister, Essie Johnson; loving daughters, Teresa Scott, Janie Thompson, and Avery Thompson; sons, S. L. Roddy, Jr. and Henry Thompson; devoted nieces, Stephanie Angel and Cheryl Johnson; and a host of grandkids and other relatives.
