Armelita Darlene Carrillo

Armelita Darlene Carrillo, at the age of 68, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 3, 1955, in Gatesville, Texas to John Mendoza and Febe Alvarado.

A Celebration of Life for Armelita will be held with a visitation on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Waco Memorial Funeral Home, officiated by Gilbert Mendoza, and a graveside service on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at 10:00am at Oakwood Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Ronnie Holmes. To pay your final respects, please arrive at Waco Memorial Funeral Home at 9:00am for a final departure at 9:30am promptly. Immediately following the burial, a reception will be held at Waco Memorial Funeral Home until 2:00pm.

She loved her family and always offered her love and support, including her home. Armelita was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them and loved her role as a grandmother. Armelita had a big personality and loved to dance and sing Tejano music. Her favorite downtime was watching Western Movies and The Golden Girls while sipping on Dr. Pepper or snacking on Almond Joy candy.

Armelita is preceded in death by her late husband, Misael Munoz; her father, John Mendoza; her mother, Febe Alvarado; brothers, Ruben and Danny Mendoza; sister, Lydia Mendoza; and grandchild, Jae’Lani Nevarez.

She is survived by her five children, Christopher Beltran and wife, Renee, Samantha Carrillo and husband, Raymond, Samuel Carrillo Jr. and wife ,Vanessa, Justin Nevarez, and Megan Farmer; ten grandchildren, Ariana, Julian, Josiah, Jonah, Nicholas, Christopher Jr., Matthew, Abriella, and Jeremiah; and one great grandchild, Noah.
