Arthur Frank “Cookie” Residori, passed away on August 9, 2021. He was born to Zaro E Residori and Rosalie Palermo in Galveston, Texas on January 25, 1946. “Cookie” went to Catholic School in Dickinson, Texas and transitioned to Dickinson High School in the 8th grade. He was an avid sports participant, doing baseball, basketball, and football. He excelled in each sport. Cookie graduated high school in 1964 and got a baseball scholarship to Sam Houston State in Huntsville, Texas. During this time at college, he met his future wife Brenda Frazier, who was also going to Sam Houston from the Waco, Texas area.
Art and Brenda married on July 19, 1969, in Dickinson, Texas and lived in Houston for the first five years of Marriage working at First City National Bank-Trust Department in downtown Houston. In April 1971 Brian Residori their first son was born, and they wanted to move to Brenda’s original home and leave Houston behind. Their second son Brad was born September 29, 1978, in Waco, Texas.
Cookie worked for Texas Employment Commission, Pure Milk, and Dr. Pepper Company over the next 40 years. He also had Art’s Neighborhood Grocery for ten years. He eventually retired as an admissions advisor for TSTC in January of 2011.
He enjoyed spending his retirement years watching the boys play ball, mowing down at the river and planting many vegetables like onions and tomatoes down at the pecan farm. He loved life and was the best husband, papa, dad and brother he could be.
Art is survived by his 2 sons Brian and Brad Residori; his wife of 52 years Brenda; three grandsons Tyler, Dylan and Cadyn Residori; his sister Linda “Sissy” Residori Purswell and husband Freddy of League City, TX; Ethel Marie Carter of Santa Fe, TX; his brother Larry Residori and wife Peggy of Dickinson, TX and many nieces, nephews and cousins spread all over the coastal areas near Dickinson and North Texas and many cousins in Illinois from his father’s side of the family.
He is preceded in death by his father Zaro E. Residori and mother Rosalie Residori and many great aunts and uncles in Dickinson, League City, South, Wilmington and in and around Illinois where his dad was raised.
Memorials in Lieu of flowers can be made to American Heart Association or charity of your choice in Art’s name. Facebook live version will be available on Tyler Residori’s Facebook page.
