Charles "Charlie" James Wittmer, 80, of Waco, Texas, passed away on January 10, 2025. Born on September 4, 1944, in San Antonio, Texas, Charlie was a man who embodied the spirit of hard work, self-reliance, and a deep passion for building things.
Charlie was a self-taught do-it-yourself guru, always eager to tackle any challenge that came his way. Whether it was fixing broken machinery, building something from scratch, or repairing a car, he had an unmatched talent for making things work again. His hands were always busy, and his mind constantly sought new ways to solve problems. He was particularly known for his love of guns, hunting, and his lifelong passion for working on cars.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Laura Ann Wittmer; his son, Charles Robert Wittmer, and his children Isaac, Dru, and Serena; his son, Jonathon Bradley Wittmer, his wife Shannon and his children Anna’Marie, Everleigh, and Remington. He will be deeply missed by his family and close friends.
Per Charlie's request, no memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in his memory.
