Obituary

Cresencio "Chris" Garcia 79, a longtime resident of Waco, died Monday in a local hospital. Mr. Garcia was born February 16, 1942 to Ophelia Hernandez.

On May 9, 1965, he married Carol Salinas and they lived in Waco, TX with their 3 sons. Until he retired, he had worked for several trucking companies as a truck driver.

He loved to fish and spend time with his family. He was preceded in death by his son, Stanley Garcia, his mother Ophelia Hernandez and his father Eugene Garza.

Mr. Garcia is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carol of Waco, his son and daughter-in-law Eric and Angie Garcia of Waco, TX , and his son Chris Garcia also of Waco, TX.

He is also survived by his 9 Grandchildren: Joshua Garcia and wife Eva, Lorence Garcia and fiancé Shaeyla, Alyssa Hernandez and husband Victor, David Gommert and wife Kanami, Krystal Garcia, Chris Garcia, Makenna Johnson and husband Devin, Marc Garcia , and Anissa Garcia.

He also has 15 Great Grandchildren and Several Nieces and Nephews.

Visitation will be held at 10 AM on Friday, May 21, 2021 at Waco Memorial Mausoleum Chapel and then will follow with services at 11 AM. Pastor Tre Baldwin will be officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be Joshua Garcia, Lorence Garcia, Chris Garcia, Marc Garcia, Randy Gonzales, and Johnny Garza
