David Hazelton Dingman

David Hazelton Dingman was born on August 24th 1941, to Briggs and Gladys Dingman in Geneva, New York and was the fourth of five children to Briggs and Gladys Dingman.

David’s Father Briggs was a Christian minister, an accomplished musician, a linguist and an educator who taught at Elim Bible Institute in Lima, New York. His Mother Gladys was a homemaker and seamstress.

David’s family travelled frequently, and the family moved to Waco, Texas for a time during David’s youth.

David graduated High school in Lima, New York and attended Elim Bible Institute and worked as a Television station camera man in Lima, New York before he was hired to work for a new computer company in Washington, D.C. named International Business Machines aka IBM.

David worked as a computer repairman for IBM in the down-town D.C. area for many years being loyal to this new technology industry of commercial computers. He watched the technological advances of computer science evolve from punch card machines forward becoming the go-to repairman, operator and programmer for each generation of computer development from the early 1960’s until the 1990’s when he retired from IBM after 25 years of service.

After his retirement from IBM, he worked for several computer contractors before being hired by Booz Allan Hamilton. His work focused upon computer securities for many government agencies in Washington D.C. after completing a master’s degree in computer science and a CISSP certification.

David retired from the computer security industry in 2018 and relocated to Robinson, Texas.

David was appointed to serve the city of Robinson, Texas on the city planning commission for the last several years.

He passed away by natural causes on February 10th, 2025 at his home in Robinson, Texas at the age of 83.

He is survived by 7 children, 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grand-children.

His life will be remembered and celebrated at 1:00pm, Monday, February 17, 2025 at Waco Memorial Funeral Home.
