David Joe Urban, Jr., 69, of Waco passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2025.
Born on October 29, 1955, David was the only beloved son of David Joe Urban, Sr., and Patsy Urban who have preceded him in death. David leaves behind his loving and devoted wife, Jenny Richardson Morrow Urban; his son, Eric Urban, and his wife; his daughter, Heather Ibarra, and her husband; two stepdaughters; and seven grandchildren.
David attended La Vega High School and was in the class of 1956. He worked for Waco Brake and Clutch in downtown Waco for most of his working career, spending the last five years at O’Reilly Auto Parts on Franklin Avenue. From an early age, David displayed a remarkable talent for mechanics. He first assembled a bicycle, then moved on to motorcycles and muscle cars. His passion for automobiles and motors never waned. He meticulously selected and maintained his family’s vehicles throughout the years. In the last two decades of his life, he found immense joy in buying, fixing, rebuilding, refurbishing, and selling vintage automobiles.
A memorial service honoring David’s life will be February 15, 2025, at 11:00 am at the Waco Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Waco Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations made to a charity of choice in David’s memory. May his legacy of love and dedication bring comfort to those who knew him.
