On Tuesday, January 25, 2022, Gerald Norman Bolton, loving father and Poppy, passed away with his family by his side. Gerald was born on April 8, 1959 to Richard Norman Bolton and Glenda Sue (Garrett) Bolton in Waco, Texas.
Gerald was raised in Waco and was a 1977 graduate of Waco High. Gerald remained in the Waco area his whole life where he worked with his grandfather, father and brothers in the family concrete business before later starting his own company, Gerald Bolton Construction. Gerald loved the business and was instrumental in the construction of many remaining landmarks in the area today. Not only was Gerald gifted with construction wisdom, but he could also build relationships that carried him throughout his life. He was full of small talk and would do so with just about everyone he met. You could usually find him at a local diner or coffee shop sharing a meal with a friend. Gerald treasured his family and nothing brought him more joy than being a father and Poppy. He was the best version of himself when he was covered up with his granddaughters! He had such a special relationship with each of them and never spared “I love you’s” or hugs. Gerald loved his children and was proud of their accomplishments. He could be known to buy countless copies of a newspaper that his son Richard was highlighted in. He was a very sentimental person and kept keepsakes from special occasions. Gerald was a big man in stature but had even a bigger heart on the inside.
He is survived by wife Tamantha, his daughter, Kenzee Smith and granddaughters, MiCayla, MiKenlynn and Rhylynn of Mart, his son, Richard Bolton, daughter in law, Kaylee and granddaughter, Ruby of Mart, sons River and Rance Milne of Hubband, brother, Larry Bolton and wife, Jeannie of Rosebud and sister in law, Robin Bolton of Waco as well as a host of extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ike and Erma Bolton, sister, Norma Sue Bolton, parents and brother Glenn Bolton.
Honorary Pallbearers will be his longtime friends, Charlie Pickens, Red Tiner, Jimmy McAdams and Al Leathers.
Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at 3 PM at Waco Memorial Mausoleum Chapel with John Sirman officiating.
The family wants to thank Gerald's caregivers, Overton Healthcare, UT Health East Texas ICU, and Hospice of East Texas.
