Gerald Mayo 88 of Laguna Park, passed away Tuesday, March 23. Gerald was born November 7,  1932 to Quince and Eunice Mayo in Wickes, Arkansas. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He retired from Central United in the early 90s and moved to Lake Whitney. He worked as a security guard at Uncle Gus Marina in the late 90s where he was known as lightning. Anyone that knew him knew how much he loved life. He was a kind man that never met a stranger. He was preceded in death by his parents, Quince and Eunice mayor of Waco; two brothers, Joe Mayo and Darrel Mayo of Waco; 3 granddaughters, Ashley Ann Bishop, Shannon Rene Carrington and April Elliott and one Grandson, Kevin Mayo. Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Wanda Mayo of Laguna Park; daughter, Connie Partain and husband Nick of Kaufman; daughter, Donna Christene Najera and husband Danny of Laguna Park; son, Jerry Mayo and wife Wanda of Forney; son, Darrell Mayo of Galveston; Sister, Linda Kay Ludwig and husband Roger of Waco; sister, Wanda Mayo of Waco; 11 grandkids; 27 great grandkids and 7 great great grandkids and a special sister-in-law, Pat Schmitz of Laguna park. Graveside Service Saturday, April 3, 2021 at 2pm in Waco Memorial Park 6623 S. IH 35 Waco, Texas 76706.
