Geraldine Hennig Blaschke

Geraldine Hennig Blaschke, formerly of Waco, passed away at her daughter's residence in Hamilton, Texas on January 23, 2024, surrounded by her family. The memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 29, 2024 at Waco Memorial Funeral Home. Pastor Mark Wible will be officiating.

Geraldine Hennig Blaschke, or Gerry, to those who knew her and loved her, was born November 12, 1929 to Paul and Hilda Hennig, in Crawford, Texas. She married Herbert Lee Blaschke on November 26, 1948 at Zion Lutheran Church in McGregor, Texas. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Herbert, for 62 years, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Geraldine was active in her church, Highland Baptist, for many years and she found absolute joy in celebrating her Lord and Savior every day of her life. Everyone who knew her loved her sparkling personality, her servant heart, and her dedication as a prayer warrior. Although she will be sorely missed, we celebrate the life she lived and the life she is now living. 

Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Hilda, her brother, Carl Hennig, and her husband, Herbert. 

She is survived by her sisters, Pat Sundstrom, and Jennifer Steagall, and her children: Shirley Gerdes and husband, Charlie; Lana Rockstroh; Gloria McNair and her husband, Ray; Jim Blaschke and wife, Monica; Terry Blaschke and wife, Cathy; Russell Blaschke and wife, Darci; Sherri Bostick and her husband, David. Geraldine was proud of her 23 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren, multiple nieces, nephews and other extended family members through marriage.
