Harold Ronald Jaro, 81, of Hewitt, TX, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 1, 2019. A graveside service will be held at 9:30 am, Monday, August 5, 2019, at Chapel Hill Memorial Park, 6296 N. I 35 Frontage Rd, Waco, TX.
Ron was born December 27, 1937 in Claremore, OK. After graduating high school, he joined the army. On February 27, 1960, he married Jane Toppins in Bridgeton, NJ. They were married for 59 years and were blessed with three children. He retired from Owens-Illinois Glass Plant after 30 years of employment. He loved playing golf and working out at the gym. He was affectionately known as “Poppy” to his seven grandchildren.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, his two brothers, Steve and Darrel, and one sister, Donna. Survivors include his wife Jane; daughters Terri Schulze and husband, Ron of St Charles, MO; Rondia Manchen and husband, John, of Hewitt, TX; son Ronnie Jaro and wife, Judith, of Waco, TX.; and grandchildren, Jeremy Briggs, Jamie Briggs, Ashlee Elliott, Reagan, Sydney, Jacob and Ryan Jaro; 3 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A luncheon reception will follow the graveside service at Meadowbrook Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 1207 N. Old Robinson Rd. Waco, TX.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be to Waco Alzheimer’s Association.
