James Dolan “Don” Williams was a loving and proud husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He left this world on November 1, 2022, at the age of 85.
He was born to Arville Lee and Veda Mae Williams on March 5, 1937, in DeKalb, TX and grew up with 2 sisters, Juanelle and Bettie in Waco. After high school, Don moved to Abilene where he became a route man with Borden Dairy under the supervision of his Uncle JQ Pickens. While in Abilene, he met the love of his life, Betty Oleta, while he was working as a milkman. Together, they had 3 children: Charlotte Turpack, JD Williams and Donna Pospisil.
He later moved his family to Austin to start a Borden Dairy plant that he ran for 27 years. After Austin and when their kids were grown, Borden Dairy took him to the Houston area where he and Betty lived until he bought his own Franchise with Lawson Products and moved back to his hometown of Waco. He later retired from Lawson Products to enjoy life at home with Betty.
Don loved to play golf and maintain his home and yard. He and Betty bought an RV and traveled all over America as often as they could. They were a loving home to many dogs, mostly pomeranians, and also to birds over the years.
He is survived by his wife, Betty, their 3 kids, Charlotte, JD and Donna as well as 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, their pomeranian Sassy, and their bird Bitty.
