Jimmie Ray Patterson, born on August 31, 1943, in Dallas, Texas, passed away on January 27, 2025, at Providence Village in Waco, Texas. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, and cherished memories among his family and friends.

A proud graduate of LaVega High School, Jimmie made a meaningful contribution to the community through his work in maintenance at several local establishments, including TP&L and AMA. His commitment to his jobs was matched only by his passion for life outside of work.

Those who knew Jimmie are fondly reminded of his vibrant personality. He had a unique sense of humor that brought joy and laughter to family gatherings, often taking delight in playfully aggravating his loved ones. His spirit was exemplified through his many hobbies, particularly his love of gardening, fishing, and cooking, with a special talent for preparing briskets on the BBQ. Additionally, Jimmie's enthusiasm for adventure was showcased in his passion for racing his cherished '69 Chevelle at the Little River Academy Community Racetrack. However, his greatest passion was the time spent with his family.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Janet (Baldwin) Patterson, and his children, Darlene Odum, Connie Blenden, Lana Ivie, Shelly Tompkins, and Leslie Sparks. He is also survived by his sisters, Gale Poquette and Judy Shepard, along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy.

Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall Richard Patterson and Willie Lois Busby Patterson, as well as his brother, David Patterson, and sister, Carol Morris.

The visitation for Jimmie will take place on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Waco Memorial Funeral Home from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. This will be followed by a funeral service to celebrate his life on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at the same location, starting at 11:00 AM.

Jimmie Ray Patterson will be deeply missed, yet his legacy will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
