John Wayne Ritchey

John Wayne Ritchey, 77, of Waco passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at Ascension Providence Hospital in Waco. Visitation will be Monday, December 16, 2024 from 6pm to 8pm at Waco Memorial Funeral Home. Services will be Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at 1pm in the Waco Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Waco Memorial Park.

John was born January 5, 1947. He loved the Lord Jesus Christ and served him faithfully all his life. He was born and grew up in Waco. Texas.

He graduated from University High School. He graduated as a draftsman from James Connally Technical Institute in 1968.

John was employed as a draftsman for companies in Waco, Austin and Temple Texas. He was drafted to serve his country and did so honorably as an MP in Vietnam and Germany. He survived, by the wonderful grace of God, a major car accident in 1973 which changed the direction of his life. He became engaged to Hattie Casey three weeks before his accident. They were married in 1974. Their son Shawn was born in 1977. John humbly served the Lord in several churches.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John A. Ritchey and Lottie Lucille Ritchey and his brother David E. Ritchey.

He is survived by his wife Patricia Renee Ritchey, his son, Shawn Casey Ritchey and wife Sonja and his precious granddaughters Arwen F. Ritchey and Johanna J. Ritchey.
