John Wagner, 87, passed away August 16, 2022, at home, surrounded by his loved ones. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM, Friday, August 19, 2022, at Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel. The family will greet friends and family an hour prior to the service.
John was born March 3, 1935, in Coledale Mountain, West Virginia to Stacy and Analou Wagner. John grew up in the beautiful hills of Bluefield West Virginia.
John joined the Army in 1953 and served for 3 years. He served in the Korean war as a courier for the front lines and as a courier for the signal corp. After Korea, he was stationed at North Fort Hood. Moving to central Texas was the best move of his life, which is where he met the love of his life Wanda White. They got married in 1955 and were happily married for 67 years. John enjoyed spending time with family and friends and enjoyed trail riding. He began working at M & M Mars in 1976 and was there for 21 years before retiring in 1997.
John was preceded in death by his parents and all 14 siblings.
John is survived by his wife, Wanda; daughter, Ruby Boyd and husband, Gary; granddaughters, Rhiannon Settles and husband, Brad and Alicia Furrow and husband, Brian; great-grandson, Karson Morris; great-granddaughter, Sally Jo Settles; and numerous nieces and nephews around Texas, Arizona, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Bluebonnet Home Health Services.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all the family and friends for their love and support. Special gratitude to the wonderful nurses, aids and social workers at Blue Bonnet Health Services.
