Juan Lopez, 83, of Moody passed away at his home Sunday, May 7, 2023. His life will be celebrated on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Waco Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. He will be laid to rest at Waco Memorial Park.
Juan Salazar Lopez’s legacy didn’t come to an end with his death. Juan was 83 years old when he passed on May 7, 2023. His family will continue to honor his legacy by continuing to support and helping others as well as connecting with people from all walks of life.
Those who knew him well would say, Juan was a fun and devoted man. He was hard working and was willing to put in time and effort. Juan was a devoted Catholic and served in the military in his early life. He met Cynthia (Cindy) in 1993 and gave her the best years of her life. Juan was born in Beeville, Texas on May 16, 1939 to his parents, Manuel Lopez and Adelaida Gonzales. He moved to Killeen, Texas where he spent many years and eventually moved to Moody, Texas where he spent the rest of his days. For over 20 years he worked at Gary Martina’s Wrecker Service before becoming a self employed mechanic.
Juan is survived by his wife, Cindy Keech; his sons, Jesse, Frank, Johnathan, and Stevie Lopez; and daughters, Jhantel, Vicky, and Patricia. He is also survived by various nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Juan will be joining his father, Manuel Lopez, his mother, Adelaida Gonzalez, his sister, Adelita Solis, brother, David Gonzalez, and his daughter, Jennifer Crocker.
