Judy was born on March 11, 1946, in Pratt, Kansas, where she grew up, met, and married the Love of her life, Edwin Barker. They married on July 22, 1962. They moved to Texas shortly after marrying and after making stops in Abilene, Greenville, and Plano, they settled in Waco in 1988. Along the way, they welcomed and raised three boys, Troy, Thad, and Trent. Judy’s main focus was on raising a family. She was also very involved in the Church and numerous ladies groups, and she enjoyed playing bridge, meeting new people, and going on Cruises with her husband, family, and friends. She never met a stranger. Then came her grandkids, which brought her the greatest joy. She spent invaluable time with her grandkids and loved them more than words can describe.
Judy was preceded in death by her oldest son, Troy Edwin Barker in 1979; parents Lewis and Sybil Wilson; brother Lonnie Wilson; and father and mother-in-law William and Ruth Barker.
Judy is survived by her husband of 61 years, Ed Barker; brother Larry Wilson and wife Cindy; son Thad Barker and wife Vonessa; son Trent Barker and wife Andee; grandchildren Wade and Hannah, Rachel and Clint, Katelyn and Duggan, Kevin and Madison, Troy, Tristan, Kaeman, and Easton; great grandchildren Eleanor, Calvin, Charlie, and Evie; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Judy’s name to Central United Methodist Church
