Leonard Raymond Lamb

September 17, 1941 — January 19, 2025

Waco

Leonard Raymond Lamb was born September 17, 1941. His parents were Raymond and Frances Lamb. Lennie was born and raised in Beloit, Wisconsin. His parents and older sister Darlene preceded him in death. His baby sister June (Cookie) and her husband Doug are here with us today.

Lennie passed away Sunday, the 19th of January, 2025. He was 83 years old. Lennie joined the Army at the age of 18 and found himself stationed in Ft. Hood. This is how he arrived in Texas to meet Patsy Kay Newton. Lennie and Patsy met on a blind date and Lennie quickly fell in love with Patsy. Their first date was to travel to Waco for a movie at the Circle Drive-In on LaSalle. We believe it was a Western film.

Suddenly, Lennie found himself traveling from Ft. Hood to Temple to see Patsy. This became an everyday occurrence, because not only did he love Patsy, but he also fell for her mother’s cooking. Lula Belle Newton could cook a tasty meal. Leonard and Lula Belle also watched her favorite soaps and the farm report together. We find this hilarious.

Leonard and Patsy decided to make it official and married in her mother’s home on October 28th, 1961. For richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health -- it was a marriage marked by love and devotion through the good times and the bad times. 63 years! What a blessing!

In 1967 their first child, a daughter, was born. In 1971 their second child, a son, was born. Cherilyn and Russell were a delight to Lennie and Patsy. They brought much joy and laughter, and a few tears along the way. It was a wonderful life. In 1988, Lennie and Patsy added a son-in-law, Mark, to their family. In 1995 their first grandchild Jacob (Mark and Cherilyn) was born. In 1996 they added daughter-in-law Robyn to the crew. 1999 brought another grandson, Noah (Mark and Cherilyn). In 2000, Madison was born to Russell and Robyn. 2003 brought another granddaughter, Mackenzie (Russell and Robyn). It was a special time in all their lives. Madison married Tyler Skinner in 2020. Noah married Bailey Qualls in 2021. As of 2025, Lennie and Patsy have four precious great-grandbabies -- Hadley, Cooper, Greyson (Tyler and Madison), and Colton (Mackenzie). Oh what a wonderful life we’ve all had.

Our lives here on earth will now be marked by before Dad passed and after Dad passed.

Dad, We are certain that our Heavenly Father delivered you safely home. We know that you are healthy and happy. We know that you will continue to praise HIS name as we will, just like you and Mom taught us. We will miss you so much, and we can’t wait for our reunion.

 We love you.

 In a while, Crocodile.
