Linda Kathryn (Brown) Bennett, 84 passed away 10/4/2024 in Waco, Texas. She was born 10/17/1939 in Mart Texas to Johnny and Velma (McGaughy) Brown. Linda grew up in Mart where she met Harvey. She attended school in Mart and was a National Honor Society student as well as a Cheerleader and basketball player. Linda was a devoted housewife for most of her life, only taking on jobs occasionally to help with the bills and giving her some spending money. She retired from Spring Valley Elementary School many years ago.

Linda married Harvey on June 20, 1959 at first Baptist Church in Mart. They were married for 63 years thru thick and thin before his passing. She was a member of Kendrick Lane Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher for over 40 years as well as Prayer Warrior. She enjoyed family gatherings at her house, cooking apple and pecan pies for church social events as well as for Harvey who loved her pies. She also enjoyed watching soaps and game shows on TV.

She preceded in death by death by her parents Johnny & Velma Brown, brother Kenneth brown and sister Elnora Eaton.

Linda is survived by her sons, Don Bennett and wife, Patti, Curtis Bennett, Randall Bennett and wife Kim, and Darrell Bennett; sisters Nancy Bradford and Wanda Earles; grandchildren, Chris, Krista Darrell Jr, Shane, Shannon, Andy, and Missy; eleven great-grandchildren, one great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Baylor Scott and White for their care of her during her last days here on earth.
