Linda Rose Wallace, 85, passed away on Tuesday January 2, 2024 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Melbourne, Florida. She was born on September 9, 1938 in Eddy, Texas to Joseph and Vera (Cook) McCarter.
Rose grew up in Eddy, Texas graduating as salutatorian from Bruceville-Eddy High School in 1957. Shortly thereafter, Rose moved to Lawton, Oklahoma with her husband Morris, as he served in the Army National Guard. She was employed at First Baptist Church in Lawton as the Financial Secretary, was active in the adult choir and taught children’s Sunday School for many years. After relocating to Palm Coast, Florida, Rose attended Daytona Beach Community College studying real estate. She was a Realtor for Prudential East Coast Real Estate in Palm Coast until she retired. Rose was a member of First Baptist Church in Palm Coast participating in the adult choir, as well as playing the piano and singing special music during worship. She was active in the Palm Coast Chorus Choir consisting of local church leaders.
Rose married her husband Morris Gene Wallace on June 1, 1957 at First Baptist Church in Eddy, Texas. They went on to have 3 children: Charles, Gordon, and Michael and were happily married for 65 years. In her spare time, Rose enjoyed singing, playing both the piano and organ, as well as teaching others to play. She thoroughly enjoyed playing music with her children and grandchildren. Rose lived her dream of being happily married and raising a family.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Vera McCarter, her husband Morris Wallace and her son Charles Wallace.
Rose is survived by her daughter-in-law Tammy Wallace of Geronimo, Oklahoma; son and daughter-in-law, Gordon and Patty Wallace of Melbourne, Florida; son and daughter-in-law Michael and Heather Wallace of Morgantown, WV; sister Daisy Moses of Robinson, TX; 12 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at Waco Memorial Funeral Home, Robinson, TX at 11:00am, Friday, January 12, 2024. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00am. Burial will follow the service at Waco Memorial Park.
