We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Mary E. Graham, age 77 of Waco, Texas. She passed away at an inpatient hospice facility on July 29th, 2023, after a valiant fight with a rare sarcoma cancer. She was born on July 31st, 1945 to Robert Graham Jr (Bob) and Letha Hall Graham in Memphis, TX. Mary was well known throughout central Texas as an independent State Farm agent, breaking glass ceilings in the insurance world throughout her career. Mary was very involved in her community; to include memberships with the Waco Christian Women’s Club, Women of Waco business networking group and many more. She was once featured in Sports Illustrated magazine, where her picture and business story were recognized; and she modeled for several different organizations in Waco. Not only was she beautiful on the outside, she had a personality to match. She had a contagious smile, was fiercely independent, and always exuded class and elegance. She loved God, her family, shopping, cooking, camping, and worldwide traveling; and she loved her fur babies. We can only imagine the glorious reunion in Heaven that she is having with her pups Samson, Delilah, and Chewbacca; while her beloved puppy Spencer, whom she had for seven years, has been adopted by members of her family.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert L.Graham, Jr. and stepfather, A.C. Bills.
She is survived by her mother, Letha Graham Bills of Lorena; son, Leslie Graham of Waco; daughter, Lisa Graham Ward and husband, Corey Ward of New York; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren with one on the way; eight brothers and sisters, all of Waco; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Above all, Mary was truly a one-of-a-kind individual, who, throughout her entire life, always looked after her loved ones. She loved fiercely and was strong-willed; and her presence will be missed beyond measure until we are all reunited with her in Heaven.
A Celebration of Life, officiated by Pastor Joey Crenshaw, will be held at 1pm on Monday, August 7th, 2023 at Waco Memorial Funeral Home, 6623 I-35, Waco, TX 76706, with a visitation scheduled for 12:00 pm.
