Mary Ann Jones, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully August 29, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter. Born on December 31, 1940, in Waco, Texas, she was named after the compassionate nurse who brought her into the world. A proud graduate of Waco High in 1958, Mary Ann continued her education at North Texas State University before completing her studies at Durhams Business College.
Her journey took a beautiful turn when she met her husband, Bill Jones, while working at Cox’s. They married on August 18, 1961, and enjoyed a loving partnership that spanned 63 wonderful years. Mary Ann dedicated her professional life as a legal secretary at Sleeper, Boynton, Burleson, Williams and Johnston, where her warmth and diligence were appreciated by all.
A talented cook and seamstress, Mary Ann filled her home with warmth and creativity. Her laughter was infectious, and her zest for life inspired those around her. Above all, she was a devoted mother who cherished her family deeply.
In the early 1970s, Mary Ann founded a Bible study group that blossomed into a gathering of approximately 20 ladies from the neighborhood and beyond. Her faith and commitment to her community illustrated her deep love for others and her belief in the power of connection.
Mary Ann is survived by her loving husband, Bill Jones, her adoring daughters, Julie (husband James Passman) and Jennifer (husband Jeff Fedro), her two beloved grandchildren, Paisleigh and Joshua, and her precious great-grandson, Mailo. She is also remembered with gratitude for her loving caregiver, Maribel Maldonado, who provided support during her time of need.
Mary Ann will be remembered for her radiant spirit, unwavering love, and the countless lives she touched throughout her remarkable journey. Her legacy of kindness and laughter will continue to inspire all who knew her. Mary Ann will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
