Sue Campbell Dodd, 99, of Denison (formerly of Waco), TX died on January 8, 2025 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas.

Memorial services and interment will be January 15, 2025, 1:30 p.m. at Waco Memorial Funeral Home and Cemetery.

Sue Campbell was born March 18, 1925, in the town of West, Texas in McLennan County. She was the seventh child of eight, born to Lela Virginia Baldwin Campbell and Charlie Richet Campbell. Sue graduated from Waco High School in 1942.

Sue married Robert Loyd Campbell on October 8, 1942, in Waco. She worked as a telephone operator with Southern Bell from June 1942 until July 1943. She was a member of Herring Avenue, Lake Shore Drive and Crestview Churches of Christ in Waco. Sue and Robert celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1992 in Waco. Robert died in 1997.

Sue married Wilburn Dodd on November 7, 1998, in Waco, Texas. They enjoyed 17 years of marriage. They resided in Woodway, Texas until he passed on August 14, 2015. They continued their faithful membership in the Crestview Church of Christ.

Sue is survived by two sons, Ronald Lloyd Campbell and his wife Gayle of Kennesaw, GA, and Bobby Loyd Campbell and his wife Lisa, of Pflugerville, TX, and a daughter Pamela Sue Key and her husband Jim, of Sherman, TX; seven grandchildren, Lisa Gayle Campbell of Kennesaw, GA, Laurie Kathryn Pannell of Brentwood, TN, Debra Elaine Campbell of Kennesaw, GA, Kimberly Sue Key of Sherman, TX, David Turner Key of Sherman, TX, Katherine (Katie) Carol Campbell of Hamilton, TX, and Christian Elliot Campbell of Austin, TX; 10 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She is also survived by her step-children, Rita Saylors-Butler, Bette Rose Dodd Drymon and their families.

Sue was a devoted wife and caregiver to each of her husbands and their families. She was faithful to her beliefs in God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit and the Church of Christ.

Sue was a resident of the Celebration Center in Denison, TX and enjoyed the senior living community with friends and family. She was an excellent seamstress. She enjoyed church hymns and gospel acapella music; playing card games and dominoes, cooking breakfasts with biscuits and cream gravy, baking Texas chocolate sheet-cakes for birthdays and churning freezers of home-made ice cream.
