Maxine Ruth (Milford) Boyd, 95, passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2018 at her home in Eureka, MO. She was born on December 3, 1922 in Sterling, CO to Clarence Cramer and Minnie Belle (Conrad) Milford. Maxine grew up in Bridgeport, NE and graduated from Bridgeport High School in 1940. After high school she attended a cosmetology school in Denver, CO for one year where she received a certificate in 1941. She was then employed with Lockheed Aircraft Corporation in Burbank, CA as a General Clerk for two years. In June of 1944 she enlisted in the Army as a WAC and was honorably discharged in October 1945 as a Clerk Typist who typed payroll, achieving the rank of Corporal. On September 6, 1945 she and her husband Lawrence Boyd were married in Glendale, CA and then moved to Waco, Texas before moving back again to Los Angeles, CA in 1951. Maxine worked with the U.S. Post Office in Torrance, CA until her retirement.
Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Boyd; her sister, Virginia Brodie; her grandson, Lawrence Langley Jr.; and her daughter, Donna Lee (Boyd) Lewis.
Maxine is survived by her daughter, Jeannine Etta (Boyd) Huskey from St. Louis, MO, and her son, James Norman Boyd from Forest Falls, CA; her granddaughters, Lesley Langley-Ortega from Anaheim. CA, Amanda Boyd-Walder from Moreno Valley, CA, Andrea Boyd from Moreno Valley, CA, Amelia Boyd from Olympia, WA, and grandson Timothy Boyd from Moreno Valley, CA. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A visitation will be held at Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, 6623 South Interstate 35, Waco, Texas 76706 from 6:00 to 9:00 o'clock PM, Friday, April 13, 2018). A memorial service will be officiated by Pastor Wayne Blackshear at Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel at 11:00 o'clock AM, Saturday, April 14, 2018. Interment will follow.
