Michelle Wood Hodge, age 60, born in Waco Texas on December 4, 1963, passed away February 3, 2024, at Providence Ascension Hospital after a short illness. Michelle is survived by her three children, Kate Hodge (23) of Chattanooga Tennessee, Peyton Hodge (22) of Waco Texas, and Mason Hodge (20) of Waco Texas.
She was preceded in death by her father the late Joseph Carroll Wood, Jr. of Salado, her Uncle Dolan Moore of Waco, her Aunt Jean Auclair of Guadalajara, Mexico, and her Aunt Joy Wood of Dallas, Texas.
Michelle leaves behind her mother, Saundra Louise Moore Wood, of Waco Texas, her twin brother Joseph Michael Wood, Sr. and his wife Aimee, her nephews Michael and Henry Wood, and her aunts, Jeri Wood and her husband Jacques of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Judy Wood of Waco, and Jane Wood of Waco.
She also leaves behind her dog, Ellie, who will be taken care of by her children, and partner Kyle Crow of Waco, Texas.
Michelle obtained her Bachelor of Nursing degree from McLennan Community College in 1994 and practiced nursing for Dr. Richard Fadal Asthma and Allergy Immunology Center until 1999. Michelle spent the following years raising her three children and nurturing her family. She obtained her esthetician degree from McLennan Community College in 2013. Michelle attended Cherry Creek High School in Englewood, Colorado and graduated from boarding school in Arizona.
Michelle had a magnetic personality and had the ability to make friends within minutes; life was never a dull moment when around her. She had a soft spot in her heart for the less fortunate and had spent two occasions in Mexico working alongside doctors to help those in need. A huge animal lover, she enjoyed trips to the zoo and local safari with her kids. Michelle was a caring and sensitive soul, who was passionate about music and food, loved traveling and experiencing new cultures, and spending time with her children.
A Celebration of Life service will take place on Saturday, May 18th at 1:00 pm at Waco Memorial Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the local humane society or the Advocacy Center for Children.
