Olga R (Cannon) Smith, 94, of Waco, died Sunday at her residence. Born in Erath, Texas, she had moved to Waco when she was a small child in the 1930's. Olga was the next to youngest of six children born to Thomas and Treasure Cannon and was the last surviving. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her four brothers, M.D., Thomas, Roger and Wallace and her sister, Valerie (Tita).
In 1947, she married Roy Mason Smith, Sr and together they raised their family in Waco. She had worked for many years for the Montgomery Ward's Department Store at the Lake Air Mall in Waco until her retirement. She was a breast cancer survivor. Olga was a member of the Primrose Baptist Church and loved to bowl and won many awards. She was a proud grandmother watching her grandson play sports and loved to watch her husband's best friend (Bill White) race.
Olga was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, in 2007 and her daughter, Jackie, in 2018.
She is survived by her son, Roy Smith, Jr of Waco, TX; grandson and his wife, Steven and Sara Smith of Mart, TX; and Great Grandchildren, Jackson and Lexi. She is also survived by her Granddaughter, Nikki Baker of Jeffersonville, IN and a host of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, February 5th, 2021 at Waco Memorial Park where she will be buried next to her beloved husband. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul White, Keith White, Larry Rose and all her nephews.
