Paul DuPuis

Memorial Services for Paul Joseph DuPuis, 75, of Waco, will be held at 3 PM, Saturday, February 19, 2021 at the Loving Kindness Ministries at 3220 N 15th A Street, Waco, TX  76708. Light refreshments will be served following the services.

Paul died Wednesday, January 26, 2022 in a local hospital after a brief illness.  Born in Long Beach, CA, he served in the US Air Force and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War.  He worked in environmental services in Long Beach, CA for several years before moving to San Antonio, TX in 1979.   It was there that he met Mariade Mendoza and soon thereafter began raising their family.  They were together for 34 years until her death in 2016.  They moved to the Waco area in 1997, and he worked as a security guard for several companies and owned and operated a locksmith business for many years.  In 2015, Paul received his Associate's Degree from TSTC.  He enjoyed travel, cooking and surfing and was a huge music fan including the Beach Boys and the Bee Gee's.

Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Mariade in 2016; his parents, Armand Paul and Helen Jo DuPuis; a sister, Mari DuPuis; grandson, Colton Copeland; and granddaughter, Courtney Tatum.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, MaryAnn and Jeff Fort of Waco, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Donald Hooks, II of Waco, TX; 5 Stepchildren and their spouses; Juan and Shannon Mendoza of Waco, TX; Susan and Luis Mac of New Braunfels, TX; Rozelva and Travis Tucker of Hubbard, TX; Marissa and Trey Klecka of Waco, TX; and Lisa and Danny Tatum of Waco, TX.  He is also survived by his 17 Grandchildren, 8 Great-Grandchildren; sister, Sue Brace of Kingman, AZ; sister, Nancy Ness of Long Beach, CA and several nieces and nephews.
