Rheba Kuehl, 101 yrs., passed from this life on Sunday, June 18 at her home on the family farm where she grew up with her mother, Mabel A. Mullens Rhodes, her father, Charles S. Rhodes, and her older brother, Edwin.
She graduated from Mart High School in 1940, and later received her RN at Scott and White in Temple.
She celebrated her marriage to Albert R. Kuehl on April 8, 1945, and instantly became a military wife. Albert and Rheba lived in Madison, WI, Belleville, IL, Cheyenne, WY, Waco (James Connely AFB), Rantoul, IL, and Rieslip, England.
The family returned to Waco in 1964. She was a member of Crestview Church of Christ for many years, and later joined the congregation in Mart.
She will be remembered for her sense of humor, her no-nonsense approach to life, and her willingness to help out friends, neighbors, and kinfolk. Please remember her when you listen to a mockingbird sing, or delight in seeing native wildflowers.
Rheba is survived by her 3 children, 2 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity.
A family celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.
The family wishes to give thanks to Bluebonnet Health Services Hospice, and all of her Right at Home caregivers.
