Richard Earl Thomas

Richard Earl Thomas, 62, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2023 in Dallas. Funeral Services will be Friday, October 6, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Waco Memorial Funeral Home. A reception will follow the service in the Waco Memorial Reception Center. On Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 2:30 PM, Richard will be laid to rest at Dallas Ft. Worth National Cemetery.

Richard was born to Lora Vester (Allen) and Allen Earl Thomas in Waco, Texas on August 26, 1961.

He grew up in Good Samaritan Baptist Church in Waco, Texas and attended Waco Public Schools, where he graduated and was the Valedictorian of his High School Class. Thereafter, he went into the Marines and served there until he was honorably discharged.

Richard Thomas was very proud of his accomplishments while he served in the Marines.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Minnie Allen; father, Allen Earl Thomas; stepfather, David Deming; brother, Larry Thomas; and nephew, Devin Thomas.

He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Lora Vester Deming of Waco, Texas; his sister, Debra Thomas of Waco, Texas; nieces Dameka Thomas of Ennis, Texas & Dache Thomas of Waco, Texas; great-nephews Adrian Hammond of Waco, Texas, Janavian Simmons of Waco, Texas & Jamel Thomas of Waco, Texas;  a great-great nephew Jah'mai Hammond; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
