Robert Wayne Brown, 78, of Lorena passed away July 12, 2024. A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 20th. The service will take place at Renew Church, located at 6509 Bosque Blvd in Waco, TX.
Robert, known affectionally to all as “Bob”, was born to Harry and Martha Elizabeth Brown on September 3, 1945. Bob attended University High School in Waco while working as a cook at Harold Waite’s Pancake & Steakhouse. He would go on to work at General Tire throughout the ‘80s before obtaining a degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology from then Texas State Technical Institute. Bob would go on to work for companies such as Weyerhaeuser and Paragon before retiring from the Coca-Cola Company in 2012.
Bob valued family and friends above all else. He utilized his skill of cooking to bring people together and was welcoming to all while selfless in his support for those he loved. Bob also had an affinity for Baylor University athletics, attending multiple sporting events each season.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Harry and Marshall Brown, sister Martha Ann Shaw and infant sister.
Survivors include wife Kim Brown of Lorena; children Lori Franklin of Tulsa, Tamra Kelley of Fort Worth, Ryan Brown and wife JoAnn of Belton, Ashley Swanson and partner Brent of Robinson, Kyle Brown of New Orleans, Ben Hayden and wife Monique of Waco, Kayley Scott and husband Justin of Riesel; siblings Flora Dawson of Waco, Gail McMullin and husband David of Waco, Jerry Brown and wife JoAnn of Robinson; dozens of nieces and nephews, as well as 13 adoring grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to The Master’s Workshop Camp, a children’s church camp located at 179 Church Camp Ln., Robinson, TX 76706.
