Robert “Bob” Runyan, 87, of Waco, passed away peacefully after a brief illness, on September 3, 2024. He was a beloved father, husband, and grandpa who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A Celebration of Bob’s life will be held at Waco Memorial Funeral Home on Monday, September 9, 2024. Viewing will be held at 10:00am directly followed by the service at 11:00 am, with Dr. Josh Vaughan with Columbus Ave Church officiating. Interment with Navy Honors will follow the service at Waco Memorial Park.

Bob was born August 13, 1937, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas to parents, Leotta (Wade) and Willie Carroll Runyan. He attended Arkadelphia High School. Upon graduation he enlisted into the Navy and served in Alameda, California, and Hawaii. After serving in the Navy, Bob worked as store manager for various retail companies. He retired from Wal-Mart in 2000. Bob married Genevieve in 1980. Genevieve and Bob loved to work in their yard together. 

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Dean and Vernon, and sister Laverne Jester. 

He is survived by his wife, Genevieve of Waco; brothers Bill (Betty) of Southlake, Texas, daughter Renee Roberts of Waco; son Robert Runyan (Pam) of Waco and son Dalton Raney (Teresa) of Whitney. Grandchildren Cimeron Kelley (Nial), Cameron Runyan (Shelly), Chris Runyan (Mika), Shauna Willett (Kyle), Richard Roberts (Tiffany), Jarred Roberts, Kristi Raney (Chris), Scotty Raney, and Shane Raney (Ciera), Randell Reyes. 15 Great Grandkids and 4 Great Great Grandkids.
