Steven Craig Claggett, 82, of Woodway & Arlington, Texas, died Friday, March 7, 2024 at Mansfield Medical Lodge, of natural causes. Steven was born January 3, 1942, Kansas City, Missouri to Mack Claggett and Ruth Caldwell.
Steven was a High School Graduate of San Jacinto High School and attended University of Houston for Journalism. He worked many years as a Tech Pub Writer for L3 Communications in Waco, Texas. Served his country in the Navy and spent time on Oil Rigs in West, Texas as a young man. Steven was a member of St Alban's Episcopal Church and active volunteer with Caritas. He devoted much of his time to his family, grandchildren, and loved to travel with the hopes of hitting it big at the slots!
Steven could accomplish anything he set his mind to; he gave us all such courage, was an example on giving all in everything you do and reminded us of the preciousness of life. His interests included family, traveling, fishing, community service, and his love of baseball. He enjoyed watching football/baseball, playing chicken foot every holiday gathering, going on cruises, playing 42, going to the horse races, attending all the casino attractions, and most of all loved his family with all his heart.
Mr. Claggett is survived by: Daughters: Mary Meier & Debra Metheny; 7 Grand Children: Charlotte, Charles, Joe, Mitchell, Kayla, Katelynn, and Wade; 1 Great Grand Child: Lilly; 2 Sisters: Ellen & Sharon; 1 Brother: Kent
He is preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth "Betty" Claggett.
