Virginia Cumbie

Virginia Christine Cumbie, 79, of Dallas, Texas passed away July 24, 2020.

Christy Cumbie attended Dean Highland, North Junior High, and graduated from Waco High School in 1959. She always wore a smile and a bow.
Christy was a homemaker who loved music, poetry, and God.
For many years she wrote poetry to the tunes of songs she liked. Later in life Christy began writing poems to her Lord and Savior. She wrote, and had published, a book of poetry called My Dancing Heart.
She lived most of her married life with Jim in Dallas where they were members of Highland Presbyterian Church. As their health began to fail, they moved to Waco to be close to their family

She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Eugenia Cawood; husband, Jim Cumbie; son, Randy Cumbie and brother, John H. Cawood.

Virginia is survived by daughter, Cecelia Cumbie, son, Dennis Cumbie; sister, Cathy Capers; granddaughter, Halley Nicole Cumbie and four great-grandchildren.
