Josh serves as our General Manager as of September 2024. He started at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home as a Funeral Service Assistant in June 2014. Later that year, he transitioned to full-time as a pre-need counselor and began the process of becoming a licensed funeral director. In December 2015, he completed his degree in Mortuary Science from Amarillo College, and in April 2018, he graduated from the Leadership Academy through the trade association, Selected Independent Funeral Homes.
He grew up in Waco, graduating from Waco High School in 2002. He has been a close family friend of the Baileys since 2001. After receiving his Bachelor of Art in Psychology from Baylor University, he moved to Thailand for a year where he taught English as a second language. Josh has several years of experience working with individuals who have intellectual and developmental disabilities in the greater Waco area.
In the Spring of 2019, he was elected to serve on the board of Selected Independent Funeral Homes and served as president of the association from 2021-2022. Locally, he served as the Chairman of the Cen-Tex Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in 2021 and is fluent in Spanish. He graduated from the Greater Waco Chamber's Leadership program, Class XXXV.
Josh currently serves as a Board of Trustee for the Heart of Texas Behavioral Health Network, the TIF Board for the city of Waco, and the Advisory Committee of Waco Foundation’s Development of Strategic Assets (DSA).
He enjoys spending quality time with his family, especially his nephews and niece. He is a member of First Woodway Baptist Church. Some of his favorite activities include running trails in Cameron Park, playing tennis, traveling, and supporting the Baylor Bears.
